We took a trip to RSPB Bempton Cliffs to see Puffins. I didn’t imagine that the Gannets would steal my heart.
There was lots of close up activity as they were collecting grasses for building their nests.
Gannets are big birds which to me, makes them have even more of the dinosaurs about them. It was hard to think about anything else as I watched them soaring up past the cliff edge in the wind. And so many of them too. Absolutely incredible.

I did see some puffins too but it was going to the Inner Farne Islands where I really got up close with them. See the “Looking Farne” illustration.
